Which god are you referring to?  Why not make them prove that the other gods don't exist and make them prove it without reference to a holy book that was actually written by humans.  Everything said in a holy book that was written by humans could be false--everything.

They won't get off your back until you become one of them.  There are effective ways to get them to leave you alone (that make them  afraid of losing their faith).
