Dear Writer,
One only has to utilize one meaning of a word to make the use of a word valid. As I mention on my Web site here are some Webster's definitions:
messiah -- any leader and liberator of any oppressed people
oppress -- to treat with unjust harshness || to cause to feel mentally or spiritually burdened.
And the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition states:
3. messiah: One who is anticipated as, regarded as, or professes to be a savior or liberator.
And as to "If God is foolish why protest so much?", It is not God that is foolish, it is the concept of God and the people who believe in the concept that are foolish. And as to "why protest so much" -- because I hate to see people waste their lives buried in such foolishness and I hate to see people warring over different ideas regarding God and I hate people irritating myself and others with such foolishness. And that's just for starters there are many more reasons to precend God from our lives.
