I think it's so sad that you think of religion as a waste of time.  In

reality, faith is the only thing in this world that actually makes

sense, and not only makes sense, but actually explains things.  Since

you are an atheist, do you believe that the world was not made by any

outside power, but just suddenly came into being?  This is a passage

from the book I'm currently reading, called "Mere Christianity":

    "People who take that view [that the world wasn't made by anyone]

think that matter and space just happen to exist,      and always have

existed, nobody knows why; and that the matter, behaving in certain

fixed ways, has just happened, by a sort of fluke, to produce creatures

like ourselves who are able to think.  By one chance in a thousand

something hit our sun and made it produce the planets; and by another

thousandth chance the chemicals necessary for life, and the right

temperature, occured on one of these planets, and so some of the matter

on this earth came alive; and then, by a very long series of chances,

the living creatures developed into things like us."

Doesn't that sound pretty unlikely?  I'm a 20 year old university

student- I'm intelligent and educated.  I am not a christian merely

because some priest has scared me into believing that if I don't pray to

God I will spend eternity in hell.  I believe it because I have

experienced Him in my life and can no longer deny that he leads me and

helps me in ways I can't even imagine every day.  I believe that he led

me to your site.  If you can believe it, I was doing research on

statistics Canada, and ended up here, without searching out anything

even related to this subject.

I'm sure that there are alot of people who e-mail you to blast you for

believing what you do.  I don't want to do that.  I want to introduce

you to a loving, generous God who loves you as much as he loves the most

pious person on this earth.  He is calling you and that is why he led me

to you.  Accepting Jesus into your heart will bring immeasurable confort

and understanding.  Good luck in your search for fulfillment.
